This one is a nice melodic Punk/Hardcore band Zlajo provided me,their last work from the end of the 90s (even it is maybe from the 2000s,not quite sure),seemingly a band that is still active,or maybe reactivated recently.As you can see I don`t know much about them,but what you have is a very fair recording.

Here we go with some Slovenian oldschool Death Metal,Scaffold are formed in 1994 and are still active,though they have only two demos and a live recording through all 14 years of existance.Sure,it must be mentioned that they appeared also on some compilations,one of them is Stormbreed,which you can find here some posts back.Nice demo.

I am proud I can present this cd.I discovered that Ivo,a dear friend of mine,released this cd,and of course asked him to be so kind to let me present it here.And for that I thank him very much.

Lately Pula became a city of very interesting musicians,and some of them have the guts to record and produce their own solo albums.I already presented ELUJ (the solo album of Jule from Bolesno Grinje),I am preparing the presentation of the solo album of another member of Bolesno Grinje,but this time I present the solo album of this extremely talented guy,the former guitarist of the now already defunct Grindcore band Mercenary Cockroach.Ivo Petrovic is a true Metal guitarist (I don`t mean troo,trve or stupid shit like that) and by that I mean a guitarist that reached the essence of Metal and showed it through his work with fantasy,virtuosity and everything a guitarist must have to be a Metal guitarist.This cd contains 4 instrumentals with all instruments played and programmed (drums) by Ivo himself,and helped by few guests on the first song,plus a singed track,with Sandi Orbanic as guest on vocals.Except for the last song which is a pure Speed Metal outburst,the rest of the material is strongly influenced by Dream Theater and similiar bands.This material should be played live,but for the moment it will remain on the cd,and we can only hope that some day soon Ivo will find people who will be able to perform his music and with whom he will present this stuff to us live.Meanwhile,you know what to do..

The second (and final) release from this Punk/HC band with members from Pula,but studying in Zagreb.The material is very good,if you listened to their demo/cassette,then you know what is all about.The title of the CD is easily guessable,it is the lenght of the stuff on it (actually,it is one second shorter).So,get it.

From the rich Serbian Metal scene,here is another great Black Metal band from Serbia,this time sent to me from Hrvoje (thanx Hrvoje!!).Excellent demo,performed very good and musically blackened to the bone.You know that I don`t support the topic used by that kind of bands,but musically I like the musicianship of this band.Very interesting for BM fans!

Ok,let`s pay the last tribute to this funny band..I said funny because they look and act funny,but actually I don`t know their real intention,do they really wanted to be funny or a parody or what?
Well,never mind.
This is their third and last release,a strange EP containing English version of two of their songs,and some bizzarre covers..now,imagine a band as Vondur (with members of Abruptum-it is the maximum of Blackness,right?) playing covers by Elvis Presley,Motley Crue and early Judas Priest..have I told you enough?Of course,there is also a Bathory cover here,so all in all,we can call it a must have..at least to throw a laugh or two.

Now,the third Annathema`s album is a full turn to another kind of Heavy Metal...You had the opportunity here to download both first and second album,now here is this one that is a huge step back for this band.More or less,it is the proof that sometimes bands should stop at the top.I am not saying it is not good:it is pretty good,a strong and powerful Heavy Metal,but far from the Thrash Metal they played.So,if you don`t mind the change of style,it is an OK album.

Here is this album I had ready for posting,and now comes the request for this,so..Drugi Nacin`s first album is what I call a Hippy record..I remember the Pula hippies back in the 70s and 80s,they were crazy about this album.Actually,it is an album of progressive Hard Rock,with some great Hard Rock moments as the first two songs,my personal favorites not only concerning the band,but in the whole Yu Rock history.Surely a great album for the fans of old 70s Hard Rock.

Our friend Darko is very active and he keeps on sending me interesting Serbian bands.This one is brandnew and this is their first release,a nice oldschool Death Metal EP,with a mighty female vocal in the purest Gossow/Classen style.The production is excellent,so this might be a nice piece of Metal for your collection.

Morsure were one of the best or at least most interesting bands of the "golden age of Thrash Metal" coming from France.Their full lenght album Accelleration Process was a pretty confusing album,because of the extreme use of electronic drums.The demo that preceeded the album shows that the album could sound a lot better if the acoustic drums were used for it.Well,if you liked the album,you will definitely like the versions with the common drum (even the recording is not the first copy,got it?).

Hypnosic are from Serbia,so far I don`t know absolutely nothing about them,except for this demo I recieved from Mel,it is a very good old school Thrash Metal stuff in the early Testament meets Kreator style.A demo you should have if you are a collector of Yugoslavian old Metal stuff!

MERCY (Swe) - Witchburner , lp 1984

Mmmm...Mercy..GREAT band from Sweden,you might like them for the fact that one of the members was the mighty Messiah Marcolin,later singer in Candlemass.Another member (actually,the founder of this band) was the a guy with Croatian roots,Andrija Veljaca,who unfortunately passed away in 2005,R.I.P.
When I heard this record for the first time,I was damn sure that this was the SLOWEST Metal I have ever heard.It is not completely slow,this record have few great and powerful Heavy Metal tracks.I got this vinyl and the video tape of one show of the band from some guys who have nothing to do with Metal,but were friends with the mentioned A.Veljaca,so indirectly,I got this stuff from him.The album is really great,especially if you like bands as Mercyful Fate..

Here`s now a band I dislike sooo much,I was thinking why should I put them here,but well,I am not putting stuff here for me,but for you.And as,to my endless wonder,Bombarder are a "cult" band from the ex-Yu,here is one of their albums,as I understood the last one before they moved from Bosnia to Serbia.The album is Metal 100%,spanning from Heavy Metal to Speed/Thrash Metal,and the music,as simple as it can be,is even not that bad,how bad is the main vocalist in both ways-vocally and lyrically (incredibly ridicolous).Well,I won`t spend a word more for them,I know you are looking for this,so here it is..

GREENCAJG-VARAZDIN EXPRESS (Cro) - compilation cd 1999

When I came to live to Varazdin in 2002.,I didn`t knew not a single one band from this town,and actually the scene here was pretty poor (compared to the scene from the town where I came from,Pula).However,as you can see,not much before that,the scene in this town was crowded.Varazdin made what Pula did not,a CD with all the young underground bands which will represent the underground scene of Varazdin.I am glad I can put this CD here (first of all,as a request from my friend Slaven T.) and show that this town has the potential,and as it seems now,there are a lot of bands nowadays that proves that Varazdin IS the city of Music.
PS:The bands here are all featured LIVE,except for the last 5 tracks (18-22) which are remixes.

Continuing the fanzine scans,here is a Croatian one from 1994,precisely from Split.It was not a professionally made zine,but it is still a document of a time and a scene,as 90% of the zine is made of interviews with Croatian bands from the underground scene of that time,precisely bands from Pula and Pozega (Aeon,Hatross,Sprovod,Amen,D.Mortification,The Bleeding) plus an interview with the mighty Agathocles.It is completely written in croatian,so for the people from the exYu territory it will be fun,and for you others a collectible document of an era.

After these few Punk posts,let`s return to good old Thrash Metal,with this excellent slovenian band trom the end of the 80s.Their second demo (even this one is not exactly the master-copy) is a display of excellent Thrash.I saw them once in 1990 in Ljubljana supporting Atrophy and Sacred Reich,and I remember they were great,but the thing that confused us all is that they played only instrumental songs.Of course,I don`t know if those were instrumental versions of the songs featured here,but it was strange..
