Another great tape coming up here is the first demo of the oldest bands in Pula, Pasmaters.The band actively exists since 1985, and is still going strong.This is obviously a rehearsal demo with a very raw sound, but it is surely an important part of the Punk HC history of the "punkest" city in the Balkans!

Now, it`s time for something I am completely out of, but it is an interesting and totally evil-sounding EP. Both "bands" are actually one-man-bands, and both into the same atmosphere.The stuff here sounds totally raw and evil, and I think it is enough words for something that BM fans will obviously get!

GUBITNICI (Cro) - Jako puno, demo 1988

Here is another "lost tape" from the Pula Rock scene history.Gubitnici were a band that didn`t lasted for a long time, they played few gigs and made a demo in a surprisingly short time, but then disappeared from the scene.This is a perfectly produced demo containing 5 melodic Garage/Punk tunes.No cover, picture, or video.

ISTARSKI ROCK `86 - Istrian compilation cassette 1986

As you can read in the backcover, this cassette is released in only 200 copies, so it makes an ultrarare item.Luckily, the work around the movie about the underground music in PULA in the 70s and 80s saved somehow all these pearls from disappearance.
This is a compilation of Istrian rock bands released by the slovenian small label "Slovenija" from Koper, a small beautiful city at the top of the Istrian peninsula`s southwestern shores.Here are featured 4 band (of which I know only 2).The first one is CASTEL, I don`t know anything about them, they play some new romantic stuff, very nice.KUD IDIJOTI is a band you already know, and this stuff is taken from their 1986 demo you already know too.The next band is H.T.B. and I don`t know nothing about them, except the fact that their bassist later became a member of The Spoons from Pula.Nice rock.The last band SUMSKI PJEVACI GORTANOVE UVALE is probably the most interesting of those four bands, with an extremely interesting melodical palette and two milestone musicians of the scene of Pula, Goran Curic-Cotka and Sandro Perocevic (incidentally, engineers and producers of my band`s Hatross demo from 1992, and Cotka also of the one from 1996, and soon of the new Devastation material - this is a scoop!!).
All in all, a nice compilation for all those who wonders about some Istrian bands that were not that exposed at that time..

Oh, yes, I have to thank Zlatko, a guy that sent me a lot of high quality stuff from Serbia! Serbian Metal kicks ass!

This band comes from Germany, and I got their stuff a lot of time ago (well, relatively) and I got all informations wrong.The file you will get have no title (it`s untitled) and a wrong year of release (2007).Bu the stuff here is great.And the recording is great too.So if you like Melodic DM, another stuff for your ears on the menu..

Now, there is a certain guy from Trieste, Italy, that contacted me through my youtube channel.He sent me this rehearsal demo of his band, telling me that Cenotaph/Necrosphere were not the only Death Metal bands coming out of Trieste, and that the DM scene in Trieste is still active, and I agree with that! Except for the audio recording, I actually don`t know nothing about this band, but I love the way they contacted me, so here it is.A very raw recording dated 2006!

PS:Wow, I found a video recording of the bands drummer! Yay!

Back to Croatia, here is a Zagreb-based SxE HC band that played for a bunch of years until 2008 when they split, and having real good stuff.You don`t have to support their life philosophy to admit the music they do is valid.I am not also into that scene, but I am glad Croatia has a great band representing the SxE scene.And I love the Black Flag cover a lot!!

Ok, people, I had a great time in Pula, but now it is time to go on with this blog..
I start with a great release from my buddies from Pula, Popeye, we already had some of their stuff here, and even their first album, pretty much rejected by the band because of the unrepresenting stuff on it.Finally, Popeye made an album of which they can be fully proud.Finally stuff
right-in-your-fuckin-face.Excellent production, and you don`t need nothing more if you need some exciting nu-metal stuff.Momentally IMHO the best croatian metal album of the year, and not partly just because they are from Pula.
