HARD METAL - Serbian Metal magazine , May 1991

Well, those were the last days of the decomposing republic of Yugoslavia..and it can be noticed by the content, except for a small text about Drinking Skull, no Croatian bands were in it.But, let`s leave this fact behind and you have here the first Metal magazine in Yugoslavia.It is uncomparable to worlds Metal magazines, but still it was a HUGE step for the Metal scene in Yugoslavia.Too bad it was the end..All written in Serbian, with Poison, Megadeth, Pergament, Uriah Heep..album reviews of Ac/Dc, Motorhead, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest..really a lot for the fist time..
This post is by request, and I am quite sure Croatian metalheads will like it.

This is a less fortunate Croatian Hard `n`Heavy band`s first album.Why less fortunate?Because they never came out of anonimity, even the material we have here is not bad at all.The stuff here is for all those who like Hard Rock from the Balkans, and I know there is plenty of you!

FAKOFBOLAN (Cro) - Provincija uzvraca udarac , cd 2002

Fakofbolan is an excellent Punk/Oi band from Pula, and this is their second (if the first split-LP is not counted) and unfortunately last album.The band disbanded after a ten years long and very succesful carreer, and for those who are close to Pula, they will reunite for a one-off performance in Pula at a Punk/HC festival in memoriam to Ales Rodic-Sela, a legendary Punk from Pula who recently died (supposedly) overrunned by a car.The concert will be held next Friday and Saturday (26th and 27th Dec) in Pula, and Fakofbolan are supposed to play on Friday.

Eyesburn were already featured earlier in this blog, this is another release from this Serbian band, playing a kind of modern Metal mixed with dubs and jungle rhythms.In some segments it might be interesting to people who love ie. Asian Dub Foundation, but thinks that ADF should be more metalized..This is probably the answer.

Here is the third Discharge`s EP in one year.1980 was a very good year for the band, and it announced their beautiful mini-lp Why.This ep comes with an improved production, and with one of their best track from that period, the title track Decontorol.With this ep, you have the initial ep-trilogy closed.

Do I have to say anything about this piece of classic vinyl??This is a cult record from the period when the enormous wave of British HC Thrash/Grindcore blasted us all.Heresy are overall probably my most favourite band of that period (well, not counting Carcass, obviously), and Concrete Sox are the perfect pair for this record.If you missed it, grab it now, an absolute must!
