Let`s start this year with some manic Hardcore from Italy, exactly from HC icons C.C.M. (they are known better by those initials).We already had some stuff from this band previously, now this is their full LP.Angry HC in here.No bullshit.
Wow, this is a great band.Released by Rock-O-Rama records, a label that released few great noisy fast HC Punk albums (in example the Kansan Uutiset one, got the picture?).And this is very noisy and fast and Punk too.Lyrics in german and english.For fans of harsh noisy HC.And I think I owe a big thanx to Vladimir for this one!
Now, this is the point where Discharge loses the strenght of the HNSNSN album and started to metalize.Actually, Doom`s Day is the last shake of the old nerve,while the title track is a song with a nice Metal riff, and with a mid tempo.Still the Discharge I adored in any way.
Oh yeah, the cover is well known..The single and the album had the same cover, and if you ask me musically I prefer the single, because it brings new tracks.The album, beside the stuff from this single, brings weirdly re-produced tracks from the Hear Nothing.. album (absolutely needless!), and even I have the vinyl, I avoid it very much.Same Discharge as the previous, except for the cleaner production, still kept in the Discharge margins.
This one is a nice melodic Punk/Hardcore band Zlajo provided me,their last work from the end of the 90s (even it is maybe from the 2000s,not quite sure),seemingly a band that is still active,or maybe reactivated recently.As you can see I don`t know much about them,but what you have is a very fair recording.
This post comes by request by a visitor-friend here,and what we have here is one of the most known and essential compilations of american Punk and a mark of Hardcore beginnings in the States.All the bands here are really great,you have 31 mostly short and sharp tracks by 11 bands,and of course,if I have to pick my favourites..it is hard to imagine that my favourites are not Minor Threat,one of the best american HC bands ever.Well,enjoy this one!
Hmmm..it will be a strange review this one..You know that I am a diehard Discharge fan since the first time I heard their Why maxi-single..and I think Hear Nothing.. is one of the best Punk Thrash Hardcore albums of all the times.And I covered two of their tracks with my bands..
CCM (known also with this shortened name) are among the first Hardcore Punk bands in the world,being active since the beginning of the 80s.This is their first single,a pretty raw recording,but pure Punk energy.Sent to me by Vladimir,my HC contributor.More CCM soon to come!
There you go,this is a compilation from one of the best and biggest (if not THE best and biggest) Punk HC festivals in Croatia,held of course in PULA,the croatian capital of independent music.It had its first edition back in 1992,so this is the compilation of bands that played in the second edition.An ultimate collection of Croatian Punk bands (except for the slovenian Proletariat) from the first part of the 90s,in excellent soundboard live recordings.If you like Punk raw and sincere,this is something you don`t want to miss!!!
A great album of pure fast Hardcore,from-of course-Pula,and featuring an active contributor of this blog,Vladimir as guitar player here..I am almost sure that Pula is the Croatian town with most Punk and Hardcore bands,and Pasmaters are one of them.The album shows a great display of very melodic and fast Hardcore,so if you are a fan of that kind,this is surely a must.
7 excellent bands,11 excellent tracks!I remember when I got in touch with it,Sale from KUD Idijoti got it from somebody (I think it was from Belgrade,from Gvido O.) and lend me this fantastic EP..I remember he almost forgot about it..but he didn`t,damn it..I was sooo into this EP that I recorded it on several tapes separately,just to make sure I will not loose it.You know,the gods MOB 47 and in this case RAW POWER,the phenomenal Funeral Oration and Psycho and Wretched..Quod Massacre and S.Malfunctions are here with tracks for which I am sure they surely have much better tracks,but well,in a whole this is a hell of an EP!Highly recommended!
I have this EP on a tape of assorted HC and Grindcore ep`s and singles,and I have to repeat as I said for many bands and stuff here,I adore this one.Melodic Finnish HC/Punk with two vocals (male and female) and with saxophone.Sounds strange to you,but it is simplier and better than you might think.
KROMOZOM 4What I bring you here now it`s the vinyl-rip of one of my most favourite HC Punk split LP ever.Two excellent French bands,very different,but making a perfect pair for this split-Lp.Kromozom 4 are a very funny band very skilled in playing and with a pretty clean production.A nice thing are spoken sketches between songs-the only bad thing is that everything is in French..Heimat Los are a more "serious" band,but playing a fast very good HC,sang in few various languages.All of this makes this one a perfect split-LP.
Pula Punk in your face.FOB (shortened for Fakofbolan-Fuck Off Bolan) were one of the leading punk bands in Croatia of the end of 90s/beginning of 2ks,really active and known even outside the Croatian territory.They split surprisingly few years ago,at the peak of their "success"..This is their first full lenght album (not counting the split-lp with Dark Busters),very energic and melodic Punk/HC.Enjoy this piece of Pula Punk!
