MIZAR (Mac) - Mizar , lp 1988

Mizar is a great Macedonian Goth-Dark Rock band (I really don`t know where to put them,so this would be the closest definition),and this is their first album from 1988.I remember buying the cassette of this,I remained pleasantly surprised by the content,musically a very emotive band with orthodox themes here and there and a beautiful Istekuvam by the end of the album.A special part of the album is Goran Tanevski`s deep low vocal.Recommended.

MIZAR - MIZAR , lp 1988

DR STEEL (Cro) - Live , place and time unknown

Dr Steel were a band from Rijeka.They missed the opportunity to become the ex-Yugoslavia`s greatest Heavy Metal band.They had two albums and had few tours all over Yugoslavia,but obviously the band did`t resist any longer.I saw today a movie about the scene in Rijeka,and Dr Steel were a considerable band in the history of the Rock scene of Rijeka.
This recording is very rare,I received it today and decided to put it here at once,even there are some 10 uploads that are waiting in a row...This is truly a very rare pearl,ripped from a tape from a friend from Rijeka (I would like to thank him a lot,as I don`t know his name,got that??Hey,get in touch,man!!),a guy that automatically became a great contributor for this blog.
This live consists of live recordings from two (maybe even three) live gigs of unknown proveniency and unknown year of performance,the recording is a soundboard one,even if it is not of the best quality,but still much much better than the Hellers,for example.You should really enjoy this rare recording!

VIS IDOLI (Ser) - Pomoc pomoc , single 1980

I decided to post this little beauty,because I love the early VIS Idoli sound,and this is even more radical or let`s say demo-esque.This is a single that came alleged to a magazine called Vidici,I suppose it was in the beginning of the 1980,even if it can possibly be 1979.Very rare.
The song Retko Te Vidjam Sa Devojkama became later their probably biggest hit,and it was the first song in the ex-YU about the "being gay" topic.A true beginning of the New Wave invasion.

Evil Blood is a band formed in 1983.This demo is supposedly recorded in 1984,but wasn`t released until 1989,and the copy I found is dated 1986,so basically seemslike not even the band knows when this demo is recorded/released..well,I am kidding.Venom influenced Speed Thrash on a good recording,plus the presence of Sinisa Vuco on bass,makes this demo a nice one for the ex-Yu Metal collectors.

YUGOSLAVIAN HARD ROCK TRASH , compilation

A collection of Yugoslavian (ex-Yugoslavian,of course) Hard Rock/Metal,including the biggest or so bands from the ex-YU.There is no any cover,not anything else,just this collection.And you know what?I like it.It is a very nice collection showing the Hard Rock scene of the former state.As usual,there are some bands missing (like early Bijelo Dugme,early Riblja Corba,Generacija 5,Zuta Minuta,Treci Kanal,Dr Steel or Jersey),but it is anyway a great collection.Btw,Pomaranca is on the pic.Enjoy and bang those heads,people.

Very nice,a great Macedonian Christian-Thrash Metal band and this is their demo from 1998/9.Unfortunately,they split in 2001,but thank God they left for us this demo.The recording quality is not of the highest,but believe me,Thrash fans will not be disappointed.

This is one of the best Hardcore Punk compilations ever.Product of the American magazine Maximum R`n`R,this compilation showed the best in worlds HC/Punk 1983-4.Of course,there should have been cca 30-40 great bands from all over the world,but even this selection makes the thing great.When it starts off with OutoMaa (and man what a start!!!),you won`t stop until the last song..unless you don`t like HC/Punk.And I know you do like,so..

Hahahahahahahahaha...Zivo Blato is a band/project of the turbo-folk singer Sinisa Vuco (on pic,of course),former vocalist of few Split`s crucial Metal bands,who decided/discovered his talent in making folk shit.Well,he remained a metalhead in the soul,so this is his project and his alter-ego called Vasilije Mitu.This album is cult stuff,even it is nothing more than some Heavy/Hard Metal with humorous lyrics-in Croatian.So,again,stuff for collectors..

I saw this band live as support to Divlje Jagode in Pula in 1983..it was true Heavy Metal..Well,this was the first album of this band from Rijeka,a band that didn`t lasted long,later they released another album (very soon here!),but never did something bigger..which is such a shame,because they should have been probably the biggest Metal band in Croatia ever.

ATOMSKO SKLONISTE (Cro) - U vremenu horoskopa , lp 1980

As you might have noticed,I rarely post two posts of the same band in a row,even not so close one to another.Well,that means that I will be posting Atomsko Skloniste albums for a looong time,since this is their third album,and they released all in all (studio+live+compilations) 15 albums,and this is only their third!!Ok,I will probably avoid their second and third american releases,and both compilations.but still there are a lot of albums to post,right?
I remember the recording of this album..it was a big thing when MOBILE ONE STUDIO came to Pula...we all went to the Valkane beach to see that big truck..
This is the last studio album which included Sasa Dadic on drums.
Trivia;this album (the vinyl version) never ends.Hahaha,I mean,the B side of the record is cut at the end in a way that the snare drum at the end of Gazi Opet Cizma never ends,it just rolls over and over and over....

Carobnjaci is the fourth album by the ex-Yu`s most successful Heavy Metal band,and it came after Motori,which is one of the top 3 most sold albums in the ex-Yu,so pretty hard to top.But Divlje Jagode didn`t even tried to top Motori,they did another album of catchy riffs,heartbreaking ballads,and the album went diamond a month after it came out.So,if you liked Motori,here is the sequel..enjoy!

The third album from Slovenia`s Orange/Pomaranca left me pretty cold at the time..you know,I knew their former vocalist and first of all I didn`t agreed with the vocalist change.Then,it seemed to me that they mellowed out,so I bought this album and sold it a little later,because it wasn`t what I expected from Orange..Now,after all these years,when I listen to it again,I see that,besides the vocalist,there`s no difference with the rest of their albums (even their first remains their overall best one)..and this album is singed half in Croatian and half in English!!..so,Heavy Metal fans...

Oh,I had to put here the complete cover..Raw Black Metal from Serbia,sang in Serbian with writings in cyrillic..this is simply a must.If I am not wrong (I do not follow the BM scene,and even less the Serbian one) this band played few times in Croatia and had great response.I can see why,this is more than a step beyond the Scandinavian Black Metal,low quality (if we say High quality for BM,it would be an offense!) Black Metal of the higher class..just read the lyrics,hahaha..

I found myself in preparing a few Bosnian bands for this blog practicly in a row,and the first ofthem is Southern Storm.I must admit that few days ago was the first time I heard about this very talented band.The bands coming from Bosnia are all talented,but I think this one is at least the most melodic of them.The guys recorded an album of world class Metal,no doubt about it.Check it out!
