What can be said, this is a blog where I will post some stuff I really like,so I think you should like it too.I am a metalhead to the heart, but I will put here every kind of stuff I like, not only Metal.I hope you will enjoy it,and let me know if there is anything needed, especially from the ex-Yugoslavia territory.
Cheers!
I am proud I can present to you one of the best Italian Death Metal bands ever, and I can`t avoid to add - with the best Italian (and much larger) Death Metal drummer.Necrosphere was born from the ashes of Cenotaph, and raised their musicianship and technicality few dozens of steps higher. This is a perfectly produced and played full lenght album, too bad it`s the only one they did.The band is no more existing, and two members of the band,Damiano and Max are today members of the exciting rocking Metal band Fuel From Hell.Enjoy this great album.
Tracks: 01.Biomechanical death machine 02.Forbidden wisdom 03.Ramming the blades 04.Towers of sin 05.Iconoclast 06.Antrophagus 07.Resurrecturis (pts 1+2) 08.Rotten games 09.Tombworld 10.Necrophiliac (Slayer cover) 11.Seduced by masochism
Ohoo, here`s another beautiful classic:Razor`s second album (hm,hm,the last three posts are all "the second release"..) is really an old skool Thrash skullkrusher..The production is great, and all the 10 tracks will make you bang like crazy.A cult album, with (on the backcover) the legendary parole "We spit on those who choose to pose,we Thrash with all the rest"!! Yeah, fucking Thrash!!
Tracks: 01.Nowhere fast 02.Cross me fool 03.Legacy of doom 04.Evil invaders 05.Iron hammer 06.Instant death 07.Cut throat 08.Speed merchants 09.Tortured skulls 10.Thrashdance
And following the trace of the previous post, let`s remain in 1985 and we have Tankard`s second demo.Gerre sounds different, but overall it`s early Tankard as we use to know. This demo have a surprisingly very good recording,Thrashy but clean enough.Enjoy some excellent good ole Tankard!!
Tracks: 01.Acid death 02.Screaming victims 03.Intro 04.Zombie attack 05.Deadly intention 06.Mercenary 07.Poison 08.Alien 09.Thunder and lightning
This one is a cult Bosnian band that was active the last years of the 80s,and disappeared with the beginning of the war in Bosnia. No trace of them remained after the war,but I found this recording (actually, these recordings, various stuff somebody squeezed in a tape with the name Idi Bez Traga). The title more or less describes what happened to the band (Leave without a trace). I have to warn you that all recordings here are of very low quality (56kbps),and are here just to document the work of that band that enjoyed a huge underground success.
01.Daj seko daj 02.Egoista 03.Egoista (live Novi Sad 1990) 04.Escape 05.Hard Core 06.Iron fist (Motorhead cover,live Novi Sad 1990) 07.Jos ludje 08.Jos ludje (live Novi Sad 1990) 09.Krvava jebacina 10.Nigdje nicega 11.Pozuda 12.Teror piva 13.Vrucina
Well, for now, this is the last recording I have by those Thrash Metal veterans from Pula. This one is their third demo recorded and released in 1995.The quality of the production is very professional, and last year Tomo told me that they are working on a comeback..I hope they succeed in that!!
Tracks; 01.Time for rebellion 02.Rage of black tears 03.Entire despair (live) 04.The other way round
Ehm..as you already read here, you know that the guys from DS were/are my good friends (at least the motor of it, H/K and Maras),and DS were one of the leading Thrash Metal bands in Croatia.. This is an album that splits their fans..A lot of Gothic influences in here made DS turn almost away from the style they played before. But it just seems like that.. The album have a lot (and I will add-too much) Gothic influences, pianos and stuff..But I will call it creativity..Just listen to tracks as War Skeletons and Endless Madness ( both with even Grind parts!!) or Rejected Man,and that is where the true DS lies.. Two interesting things about this album: -the female backing vocals are sung by Vesna Pezo (not checked, but it is obvious that we are talking about the todays turbofolk singer) -the last track (Rejected Man) contains a bit of silence after the track, and then the hidden Rap Metal track Rough Times, featuring the (bad English talking) rapper(s) M2S.
Tracks: 01.Keeper of the lost souls 02.The seventh seal 03.Another smile at my face 04.Doors of time 05.Walls 06.War skeletons 07.March of gods 08.The sentinel 09.Endless madness 10.The battle rages on 11.Rejected man (+ hidden track Rough Times )
May Result were already in this blog with one of their albums..well,this is their first work, their first demo.A very powerful and loud recording balancing between Death and Black Metal. However,an extreme work done very very well. PS:I am not sure what is exactly, but on the Encyclopaedia Metallum results that all the members and more are playing in The Stone as well...(??)
Tracks: 01.Dogma 02.Auto da fe 03.Asylum ignorantie 04.Hellwarrior
You have already realised that Pula, except of the Metal scene, have always had a very rich Punk scene.Frontalni Udar are a great Punk Rock band playing almost 2 decades, and here is their first full lenght album from 1998.When you compare their two albums (the second soon here!),on the second one they turned a bit to HC Punk, but this one is pure Punk Rock.
Tracks: 01.Njegov dan 02.Dobio si sto si dobio 03.Moj grad 04.Probudi se 05.Pitam se 06.Bit cemo uz tebe 07.Darko 08.Svaki put kada gubim 09.Istinu u oci 10.Tama 11.Pogled s prozora 12.Aam 13.Bezivotno tijelo 14.Sta ti znas
Last month Mladen gave me few interesting croatian compilations, and here is the first I am presenting here. This complation was part of an anti-drugs campaign held in Istria (beautiful croatian region),and here you can find many istrian bands and authors, and one very special guest, the bosnian/croatian rapper Edo Maajka enforced by the croatian HC/Metal band Stronghold, and all this interrupted just by 3 (radio) jingles used on local radios for the support of this campaign. You will find everything here;Metal,Punk,HC,EtnoJazz,Hip Hop Metal,Garage Rock,Pop..Almost all important istrian bands and solo artists of that moment are here, and that makes this compilation even more important.
Tracks: 01.Jingle-Djeco 02.TAMARA OBROVAC-Crno zlo 03.GUSTAFI-Nasa san je 04.LIVIO MOROSIN-I`m gonna love you 05.EDO MAAJKA feat. STRONGHOLD-Ovdje kod nas 06.KUD IDIJOTI-B.S.N.S.K. 07.DOGMA-People 08.MORSKI (DJ MARINO)-Beach life 09.Jingle-Cekaj 10.EX PISTOLS-Preko vode 11.VOKAL U GIPSU-Sanjam u bojama 12.THE SPOONS-Narkoman 13.POPEYE-Glasajte za nas 14.F.O.B.-Sumrak civilizacije 15.MESSERSCHMITT-Teenage head 16.Jingle-Sportski 17.THE ORANGE STRIPS-The fire 18.CHWEGER-Back to east 19.NOLA-Dio tebe 20.ELIS LOVRIC-It`s allright 21.POKLO`N-Moj me otac daruje
This is an excellent demo, even it is made as a joke (or I think so,it sounds funny to me).But overall is a very nice old-school Speed Thrash demo.I am not sure if they will ever do something big,but I invite you to enjoy the moment and bang your f++kin head to this. And you will,I know..
Tracks: 01.Connection reset by Satan 02.Kernel panic 03.DDOS 04.Abort,retry or die 05.Power Metal 06.Interview
On request, here is the last album of the legendary Serbian melodic Punk HC band. This time,it is an album of covers, all well known tracks, and, after my disco compilation, this is a nice way to come back through disco again.Well, the covered songs are not pure disco, rather some danceable flicks from the 80s..Anyway,a very funny record, and it comes very well before several gigs which will be held by the band in Croatia during this summer.
Tracks: 01.United (Prince Ital Joe and Marky Mark cover) 02.I need a hero (Bonnie Tyler cover) 03.Stop that train (Clint Eastwood cover) 04.Sky (Sonique cover) 05.Tarzan boy (Baltimora cover) 06.Princeza (Sladjana Milosevic and Dado Topic cover) 07.What a feeling (Irene Cara cover) 08.I like Chopin (Gazebo cover) 09.Cambodia (Kim Wilde cover) 10.California (1/2 Mamas And Papas cover) 11.United (Prince Ital Joe and Marky Mark cover)
Phantasmagoria are one of the bands which can be called "demo band for life"..They never released a proper album or something alike, but are long-lasting and constant.Goth-Metal featured here, this is a promo-tape with various studio and live recordings (and a bunch of covers) I got while I had my Scream Radio-Show back in the second half of the 90s.If you like a darkened metal, you`re gonna like this one.
Tracks: 01.Djevojka od bronce (Mizar cover) 02.She`s lost control (Joy Division cover) 03.Nephilim (live Kulusic Zagreb 1995) 04.Ja gledam svojim ocima 05.A forest (Cure cover) 06.Grad tihog ocaja 07.Gimme gimme gimme (Abba cover)
Excellent demo recording,Sarcomman are already featured here, but this is their brandnew 2008 demo recording, done very professionally.Serbian Melodic Death Metal at its best, brought to you by my contributor Darko. This is really worth. PS:I received a note from the band saying that the music is more archaic than I described. So let me be more precise;the word "melodic" means that there are a lot of very good sounding and melodic parts, but the Death Metal featured here is of the stronger type, not the quasi-Death proposed by a lot of bands today. This one have BALLS:
Tracks: 01.Almost dead inside 02.Levitate in suffering 03.Humandefect 04.Deadcarwed 05.Addicted to all 06.Manemy 07.Politicide 08.New age degeneration
I am very proud that I can present you this cassette,a very specific release. The story about this tape is; when KUD Idijoti left their label Slovenija (after the first three ep`s) the guy that runned the label had conserved some leftovers, and some recordings done for the first full lenght LP,and released this tape by his own, first without the bands knowledge, and then without the bands permission. The stuff on this tape are two songs from their first full lenght with a totally different production sound, and with some senseless instumental or remix dub additional versions. Sale Veruda, leader of KI tried to stop the distribution and left a statement for all the media that this is not an official release, just stuff to take money from the fans, but the anyway small number of tapes released disappeared very quickly,so it became a collectors item. The first song has some minor disturbances, but the rest is ok.Enjoy this rarity!
This video is an interesting vid,a DJ that played another remix of this song of KUD Idijoti..
Tracks: 01.Necu da radim za dolare 02.Smrt 03.Necu da radim za dolare (instrumental mix) 04.Necu da radim za dolare (metal-dub extended remix) 05.Smrt (instrumental mix)
I got this tape directly from the band during the Carcass concert in Italy, and even it is nothing spectacular,it is still a nice old school Thrash Metal stuff. As far as I know, the band left no other trace at all,so for the collectors of Italian metal, this is very interesting stuff.
I just found an ad on the Croatian net, this single in VG condition costs 150 kunas (20 Euros approx). This is the second AS single I put here, and here finishes the official YU/Cro part of the AS discography (there are two albums recorded in USA as Atomic Shelter).AS were truly a great Hard Rock band, and I am proud I was able to give to you everything I had.Of course, the two US albums will be here too,soon..
Tracks: 01.Bez kaputa 02.Tko ce tad na zgaristu reci
The Stone are already featured in this blog, they are one of the leading Black Metal names in Serbia. This is their third album, and I must admit, even if I don`t listen to BM that much, this band sounds awesome. I hope they sound the same on their live-shows, it is extreme, but still with dark melodies. Very good.
Tracks: 01.Prividjenja 02.Nocas nikog nema pred dverima Nava 03.Svarozi krug 04.Zakon velesa 05.Mater slava 06.1168. (Sivi oblak stao nad Arkonom)
This is something for the ones who like something totally and completely different. This band was from Djakovo,a beautiful city from Slavonia (a part of Croatia),and in the band there was involved one of my dearest friends,a multiinstumentalist and very talented author Ranko Sajfar (you met him already in this blog, with his one man band project Statik).Well this was his band back in 2000 when he lived in Djakovo (he live in Pula now). This is a strange mixture of everything circling around Jazz Rock, and I added in the tag the word ARTY,because all their shows were performances followed by their music, and their music was also used for some small theatre plays.I am sure this will be very appreciated by fans of ie. Tom Waits or similiar stuff. Very interesting.
Tracks: 01.Gizdav brk 02.Kameni svatovi 03.God`s finger 04.Krava 05.Where my dreams is gone 06.Pamučne oči 07.Ti si tu 08.B.D. (53) 09.Slavonija 10.I forget your name 11.Ninina nocna mora 12.Josko 13.Vlado i Klara 14.Baccara 15.Awake in the bed
This is a band from the city I live in.They don`t exist anymore, but they were a really good band, especially live.I saw them few time, really powerful live performance.I got this cd from their guitarist Sinisa, few years ago,and now relistening to it,it is such a shame that they split.I call it NuMetal, even it might not be,but I am not into micro-tagging,so it is a modern kind of metal, similiar to early Korn.As far as I know, this is their only work. PS:Very nice cover of Sepultura`s "Roots"
Tracks: 01.Revolution 02.Hate victim 03.My pride 04.Love and hate 05.Fuck the system 06.S.O.S. 07.War language 08.Roots (Sepultura cover)
