There you go,this is a compilation from one of the best and biggest (if not THE best and biggest) Punk HC festivals in Croatia,held of course in PULA,the croatian capital of independent music.It had its first edition back in 1992,so this is the compilation of bands that played in the second edition.An ultimate collection of Croatian Punk bands (except for the slovenian Proletariat) from the first part of the 90s,in excellent soundboard live recordings.If you like Punk raw and sincere,this is something you don`t want to miss!!!

NAELC WONK (Cro) - D.emo.d , demo 2000

This is a surprisingly good band playing modern,or well,I call it Nu-Metal,but not the soft mainstream way,but really with a strong HC power (like early Korn).They are from Karlovac,and unfortunately this is their only recording dated 2000,even the band still exists.
Meanwhile,this demo is more than a good material for those who like that kind of Metal.

HOPERA (Ita) - demo 1995

Now,a demo of a band totally unknown to the world,and I am not sure if they did something else after this one.Anyway,I met the drummer of this band back in 1995,and he sent to me this demo,a very nice and fairly produced demo,an easy listening and very melodic Metal with Dream Theater influences.Not a must,but if you collect Metal bands all over the world,then you will surely want this one too!

This is the last official release of AS,an album that passed very unnoticed (compared to all others) and an album that is pretty powerless compared to all others.It is still Hard Rock as AS knew,but even Bruno`s voice lost power..an album for the AS collectors,because it is senseless to have the complete discography without the last album.

Now I am presenting you a great Hard`n`Heavy band from Novi Sad,I discovered them accidentally on myspace,but they were a big surprise to me.After I contacted them,I received three songs they collected in a demo called Prvi Prasak.A studio track and two live ones.I recommend you this band,who`s bringing back the good old fashioned way of Rocking,but in a very qualitative way.Recommended!

BOMBARDIRANJE NEW YORKA - Croatian compilation lp 1989

Now,here is a cult Garage Rock and Punk compilation,released just before the war in Croatia started.With this compilation,three bands were thrown into the A league of the Croatian underground Rock;Messerschmitt,Majke and especially the charismatic Satan Panonski.An album made exclusively of demo recordings,so by itself it is a true great document of the Garage/Punk scene in Croatia.Really worth downloading.Enjoy!

DIES IRAE - DEMO 1997

NULLA OSTA (Cro) - Poslije zivota , cd 2003

Great,almost unique band from Pula,playing very fast HC with drums and two distorted basses,and a vocalist too.This is their second album,continuing what they did on the first,only stronger.NO plays a lot of shows outside Croatia,they are definitely one of the most active bands at that,and one who went most far,having a tour in Brazil in April this year.I just read,the band wanted a guitarist,but they couldn`t find one,so they added another bass player in the band.Marvelous decision,as it makes them more interesting!
PS:The video down here is a live performance from their Brazilian tour,from the date in Bauru,accidentally,on my birthday,yeah!The recording is in two pieces.

Ooohh,I promised you this album few monts ago..well here it is.A band made mostly of ex-Ludichrist members.Anyone liked Ludichrist albums?You won`t probably like this one then.Even it is basically the same thing,but in a more light,listeneable way,a lot of flirting with Funk..actually,thinking twice,they remind me here of bands as Atom Seed or Mindfunk,so if you are ready to make a compromise and accept a lighter and cleaner version of Ludichrist,this is for you.If not,skip this one.If you never cared about Ludichrist anyway,this might be an interesting Funk-Metal (I hate this monicker!!) album..

Now this is something I received from Darko..I don`t understand what means the title of the album,and neither the name of the band.But musically,this is great stuff,really.Old school Speed/Thrash with lyrics mainly about alcohol (I don`t like that kind of topic or humor about,but this is here for the music-and anyway,for you who don`t understand,it is overall great stuff!!).The production is very good,there are three covers (S.O.D.,Bombarder and Venom) done in their original way,so if you`re searching for good old school Metal stuff..

Ok,now,for the "something completely different" section,here is a good friend of mine.His name is Ranko Sajfar,he is from Djakovo,but lives in Pula more or less 6 years now,and in those six years the guy completely entered into the Pula`s musical scene,working with few bands and projects,and doing music by himself.This project is/was called Statik,it is Ranko`s one man band project,with a very little help by few persons,but everything is played sampled and done by Ranko himself.He is proposing here a kind of Etno/Ambiental music,very nice stuff for an easy listening.I will put more of his works,and most importantly his first band back from Djakovo,an interesting band called Kabir Bedi.But for the moment,if you are into chilling music,this one`s for you!And thank you,Ranko.

This is a really good release,and a nice vinyl rip.Assuck are known for their extremity,but in this EP they give us a spoken word piece entitled A Nation`s Tear,about the war in Yugoslavia,seen from outside.This track deserves the attention of us living in the ex-Yu territories,while the other tracks are a pretty good produced fast DeathGrind.For extreme maniacs.

A great album of pure fast Hardcore,from-of course-Pula,and featuring an active contributor of this blog,Vladimir as guitar player here..I am almost sure that Pula is the Croatian town with most Punk and Hardcore bands,and Pasmaters are one of them.The album shows a great display of very melodic and fast Hardcore,so if you are a fan of that kind,this is surely a must.
PS:Not to confound with the actual Hard Rock band Pasmaters from Split!!
