What can be said, this is a blog where I will post some stuff I really like,so I think you should like it too.I am a metalhead to the heart, but I will put here every kind of stuff I like, not only Metal.I hope you will enjoy it,and let me know if there is anything needed, especially from the ex-Yugoslavia territory.
Cheers!
Austria was always home of good Death Metal, and this band is another DM act coming from that country. The stuff we got here is just a three track promo the band let out just before the release of their third full lenght "The World Demise". This is the first time from the beginning of this blog that you will get also a video for another song from that album, Resuscitated.Enjoy.
Tracks: 01.Blood flows on 02.Fate in line 03.Mist of persihability video: Resuscitated
Here is a cool old-school Thrash Metal band, and by that I mean a band that played in the 80s and played that old fashioned Thrash Metal which is back now, more than two decades after. This is a compilation of stuff the band recorded in 1986 and 1987, so, for the oldskool Thrashers, something to get at once.
Tracks: 01.Destructor 02.Slaughter lord 03.Die by power 04.Taste of blood 05.Legion 06.Slaughtered corpse 07.Onslaught 08.Steel lords of war 09.Cryptic terror
This album is something that is expected for a very long time, after this band practicly exploded around with their Ep "Metal je rat", everyone anxiously expected a full release. And here it is.Released by the chinese "Area Death Productions" label, this album is inevitable to become one of your personal favourites, if you are into "new wave of old skool Speed Thrash Metal" bands (for example; Municipal Waste). Nadimac made a solid-no, not solid: a concrete-crushing album, starting from the production through the ripping vocal and the perfect playing skill of the guys (the complete album reminds me somehow of Kreator`s "Terrible certainty", with a pinch of aggressivity added). The rip you got here is a usual 128kbps, for you just to pre-listen (as usual) and my sincere recommendation is to buy yourself an original copy, and you can do it through the band`s myspace page (www.myspace.com/nadimacbend) or through Area Death Production label site. The original comes with a full color booklet with lyrics written in three languages.Buy or FOAD!
Finally it is out. This album means a lot to me, because it brings my memory to a guy I knew until the beginning of this year, until he left this planet forever.Post Mortem are a cult band from the 80s, and just as they planned a reunion, the vocalist John McCarthy died on January 28th this year, and it seemingly stopped the reunion.
JOHN McCARTHY , R.I.P. MY FRIEND
As the musical part of the new album was over, the guitarist John Alexander decided to finish it as a tribute to Macca (McCarthy). The vocals were done by SIGH`s vocalist Mirai Kawashima, and Alexander decided to include on the album some alternate versions of some songs with other vocalists, guys who were friends of the Macca, so as bonus tracks are included 5 songs sung by other vocalists such as Seth from Anal Cunt and Mike from Cianide. And I am proud to say that I gave my tribute too, I sung the McCarthy`s song "A Happy Life", it is no.15 on this cd.The cd is available through the myspace page of the band, or at www.tabootapes.com . Order it.
Tracks: 01.Message from the dead 02.Dana Hersey 03.Crispy monsters 04.Human pinata 05.Pray before you die 06.Field trip 07.Never rat 08.Babble on 09.A happy life 10.Forthright tuna 11.Oh so evil bonus tracks: 12.Message from the dead (feat. Mike Perun) 13.Field trip (feat. Ryan Travis) 14.Never rat (feat. Mike Keller) 15.A happy life (feat. Alex Bijazic) 16.Oh so evil (feat. Seth Putnam)
Here is another great serbian band provided to me by my friend Zlatko.SS have a very nicely produced and played CD, playing a kind of modern sounding Thrash Metal. This is the only release they have, and after it, the band changed the name into Stillborn Sun.
Tracks: 01.Stillborn sun 02.Agony of a mortal 03.Slaves to ignorance 04.Evil walking among us 05.Unbreakable bond 06.The power of hunger 07.My hatred 08.Our kingdom 09.Homicide of the mind 10.Never again 11.My own enemy
Well, this one is a killer for sure..You already know BG for sure, this is one of the earlier works, but undoubtely not even slightly lighter than the other stuff.Grindcore to the bone.As for the slovenian SD, they have the crust side of this split, very interesting and noisy too.
Tracks: BOLESNO GRINJE 01.Bolesno grinje 02.Generacija zajeb 03.Noz u ledja 04.Flush song 05.Amen 06.Prolupan grad 07.Nema povratka 08.Kravlje ludilo SOD`N DAN 09.Sod`n dan 10.Smrt drzave, svoboda naroda 11.Totalka kiselica 12.Cisto sranje 13.Letalski miting 14.Vojni turisti 15.Petek 13 16.Izgubljena prihodnost 17.I disagree 18.Rana u dusi
Here is a nice rarity I got from some musical collectors from Pula, this is a demo from a Pula`s band from the late 70s/early 80s, Visoki Napon, a Punky New Wave act represented here with a good quality studio demo.I enjoyed listening to it, it reminded me of the first gigs I saw exactly around 1978-79-80s..If I am not wrong, Romeo from Besposlicari/The Spoons played here...
Tracks: 01.Tri male curice 02.Fakultet 03.Rodjen sam u Puli 04.Centar za neuropsihijatriju 05.Rock `n` roll 06.Posljednji let Boeinga 707 07.Narkoman 08.Mrtvac 09.Momak ti si lud 10.Ulice
The album you see here is almost a rarity today. It is the very first album of the band known today as GUSTAFI, and playing today a completely different music. The music featured on this album dated 1985 can be described as "the most alternative Talking Heads stuff". The production is an excellent work by Ekatarina Velika`s leader Milan Mladenovic. As this album was never released on cd, this one is a great vinyl rip.
Tracks: 01.Zlatousti 02.Damin trip 03.Moje ulice 04.Napamet 05.Zrtve plesa 06.Za ideale 07.Upotreba majmuna 08.Dobri ljudi nocu spavaju 09.Price
Now something found somewhere on the net, a rare soundboard live recording of Bajaga (ex-Riblja Corba guitarist) and his band Instruktori. This one is taken in Osijek (Croatia), and I wrote Croatia because this is a recording from 1985, and that means that Yugoslavia was still one country, and Croatia was part of it.After the beginning of war in 1990/91, almost a decade will pass until the first Serbian performers will do shows in Croatia again.History made its turn, and Bajaga was one of the first Serbian performers to return to Croatia.
And there goes another excellent Serbian band served to us by Zlatko.Thrash metal with an excellent recording (altough I think that the programmed drum should be replaced and re-recorded with a live drummer). But except for that, the material you got here is really great in every aspect.Serbian Metal (obviously) rules.
Tracks: 01.We are damned (Welcome to hell) 02.Cold winter night 03.Parted 04.Inner evil
Let`s go back to some bands you know better..this one is the fourth Darkthrone demo, coming from their Death Metal phase. An interesting recording, not of the highest quality, but surely a great document. And great stuff if we take the year of recording, 1989.
Now something unusual, a very young band, and by saying that, I mean it.As you can see in the pic, they are all kids, and the smallest of them in front is not their mascotte, but it is the drummer, which at the time of the recording was only 8 years old.The material here is not that bad, actually it is very melodic.A kind of dark metal with vocal in the Sisters Of Mercy style. All in all, something you can at least try, if you are sceptic for their ages.
And here is a little treat again from our friend from Serbia, this is the first demo of one of the best bands from Serbia. The band passed through a tragedy this year (I won`t repeat it again, as respect to the band) and all I can say is that I really hope they will stand on their feet again and come out of this twice stronger. Bosko R.I.P.
This is a band from Pula, whose CD was given to me personally by the lead vocalist Debac, a living legend of the Rock scene from Pula (Zablja Perspektiva, Rosa Nera, DETMA, Manekeni...) , singing from the beginning of the 80s and still not giving up.And there is no reason to give up anyway. This is a very strong CD with music that can be comparable to the best Alice In Chains works, and with slightly Tool and Soundgarden influences. The recording is highly professional, so I think that, if you like the mentioned bands, then there is absolutely no reason to miss this one!Hvala Debac!
Tracks: 01.Odvedi me 02.Planeta 03.Delfina 04.Magija 05.Poruka 06.Budilica 07.Jalamander (instrumental) 08.Osmica 09.Poznati lik 10.Shine (bonus track)
Nadimac is already featured here, and this is their EP from 2008, a kind of predecessor to their new album, soon to be released by the Chinese old-school label Area Death Production. They call themselves "the Serbian Kreator" but I would rather call them just Nadimac, because they are far from Kreator in the Metal style, and they sound fresher anyway. So, let`s wait for their album!
Tracks: 01.Metal je rat 02.Zlo i naopako 03.Hrani babu da te ujede 04.Iks iks iks 05.Usro si motku
Now, another Serbian band I got from Vladimir, I cannot define what is this band into, the fact I found on the net is that this is (or might be) an alter ego band of OSLOBODIOCI, a band I presented few posts ago. Also, I found out that this album is not released in 1995 (as written on the file) but in 1993.The music they play is a kind of Rock that I can`t put anywhere, even if it is so simple.I can compare them to, let`s say, Psihomodo Pop.. Well, you try..
Tracks: 01.Mickey Rourke 02.Hot dog 03.Crno mleko 04.Veliki crveni kadilak 05.Vise nema razloga za nas 06.E, pa sto 07.Draga, idi do vraga 08.Secerlema 09.Decko 10.Pokidan 11.Bedara 12.Zelena limuzina
Another Terrorizer tape found, this is a raw but very listeneable rehearsal from the best period of the band, another reminder of one of the best Death Metal guitarists, Jesse Pintado. R.I.P. Jesse, and R.I.P. Terrorizer.
Tracks: 01.Ripped to shreds 02.Corporation pull-in 03.After world obliteration 04.Human prey 05.Strategic warheads 06.Fallout 07.Infestation
Let`s continue with the Serbian Metal stuff I got from Zlatko, this is the first ES album dated 2000, a nice effort, even if it is noticeable the progression on the 2nd album, both instrumentally and in the production. But, if you have and liked the first album, you will definitely get this one to complete the discography.
Tracks: 01.Reborn power 02.I`m my god 03.Game of desire 04.Collection of lies 05.Alive 06.Brainless 07.Strong enough 08.The edge
Here`s a digitalized cassette only release I got from Vladimir. This is a Serbian Punk Rock band, I would like to say rather a kid of stronger Rock very close to Punk. The rip is excellent, so for the Punk Rock fans around the world is another nice discovery.
Tracks: 01.P-rn-grafija 02.La putita 03.Sta se ispod maske krije 04.Na nicijoj zemlji 05.Sutra u Cikago leti, dole 06.Jesam li pogresio 07.Sunce ce mi biti iza ledja 08.Reskiraj 09.Ovo ti nije nikada rekla 10.Ne mozes to odneti sa sobom 11.A grizao sam koliko sam mogao 12.To je dovoljno da odustanem 13.Sticenik 14.Poker sa djavoljim repom 15.Vlada`s tongue in aspic (bonus track)
One of the US finest, and also oldest and purest Thrash Band, and a great flashback to the beginnings of Thrash Metal. This is their first demo, the sound quality is a little low, but still listeneable.Enjoy good old school Thrash!
Tracks: 01.Into the inferno 02.When the axe falls 03.Gonna burn 04.Metal head 05.Hammer away 06.Road warrior
Austria was always home of good Death Metal, and this band is another DM act coming from that country. The stuff we got here is just a three track promo the band let out just before the release of their third full lenght "The World Demise".
