Here`s another fanzine I just scanned.This one is from Pula,done by my friend and huge contributor Zlajo and his friend Brane (at that time both in Brijacina Kojona).Unfortunately,for all non-ex-Yu visitors,this zine is completely in Croatian,and what is even worse,some interviews are done in the local slang,so even if you know some Croatian,there is no chance to understand what is written.However,there are a lot of interviews and reviews and it will be a lot of fun and stuff to know about the past of the scene for all from the ex-yu territory.For all others,if you just collect zines no-matter-what,this is a must!

NATURAL DISASTER (Cro) - The battle monolith , demo 1993 (cd 2004)

Ok,continuing the diving into the material I have,I discovered this band from Zagreb,along with Dissection/Aeon one of the first Death Metal bands in Croatia.This one here is a cd released by a small DIY (probably private) home-label Fecal Matter,and it contains the three-tracks demo recording,then five short tracks from a bands project called Fecal Intruder,and three live tracks recorded on a show in Udine,Italy in 1993.All in all,a nice one for the collectors.

KUD IDIJOTI (Cro) - Demo 1986

This is the recording that made me fall in love with this band.I got the master tape from Sale Veruda,and this is a very good copy,only Vesna have a major disturbance in the middle of the song,but if you exclude this,this demo is a masterpiece,simple,very melodic Punk Rock from a band that will become Yugoslavia`s finest.This tape is cult,so you gotta have it!
PS:The videos here are special:not a long ago,KUD Idijoti gave the opportunity to two girls from a Drum And Percussion school from Pula to play a song with them in the rehearsal room.That surely meant a lot to the girls,so here are both of them:

Continuing the Atomsko Skloniste discography,and rushing to its end,here is the bands first album recorded in the USA for the american market.It is a cool album,with old songs more or less rearranged or replayed,with lyrics in english.This is the only "american" album sung by Sergio Blazic and actually played by the original croatian line-up,and it is a nice album to fill your collection.Only one missing.

NKV (Cro) - Rehearsal demo 199x

This is another band from Varazdin,full named Necrotic Kaput Ventriculus,and I got this recording along with the Rotting Womb one.Those two bands probably shared the same rehearsal room,and I suppose that they recorded this rehearsal demo the same day as RW too.So,probably the same session,Ishtvan on the drums again (haha,sounds like a Black Metal name,hahaha).Well,the sound and the music is very similiar to the RW one,so to have the complete sessions,it is necessary to have both recordings!Enjoy this rawness.

This is a band from Varazdin,and even if I received this recording from a former member,my dear friend Ljubo (he was the drummer in one phase of the band,here the drums are played by NKV`s drummer Ishtvan),I have completely NO informations about anything concerning this band.This is an ultrarare extremely raw recording of a rehearsal they did in the early 90s (thanx to Pero for the update,the file for download is dated 2000),and it is a Cro-metal collectors item.

Well,it`s time now for another Croatian Metal compilation.This one was compiled by my friend Maras,once guitarist in Drinking Skull and still main editor of the only Croatian Metal magazine United Forces.As I got this cd separately,I am not quite sure if this cd came with the magazine or sold separately.However,it is an excellent compilation of bands that represented Croatian Metal in 2002.I won`t go analysing every single band here now,if you liked Croatian Metal until now,this one is simply a must.

Hahaha..this is fucking hilarious..Punk Folk,actually,a parody of the Yugoslavian folk and Turbofolk filtered through tough Punk..this album is a real summer hit for all of you,but especially for the people from the ex-yu,who will understand this album much easier than the rest of the world.Of course,that does not mean you won`t enjoy this too.I forgot;this band is a project of punks from Pula (obviously) , more or less all of them involved in known bands (read Bolesno Grinje).GREAT stuff here!!!A must!And it went straight to my mp3 player!

Oh,great ole times..This is the last demo prior to the release of Bonded By Blood..actually,I found it as demo,but it sounds to me as it is an unmixed version of four tracks from the recording session of the album..if you know the album well and listen carefully,you will hear a lot of similarities with the album recording..anyway,for the collectors,a must!

Another legendary Punk Rock band from Pula.They didn`t lasted long,but became cult at once.I am not into any info about them,but one sure thing I know is that from the ashes of this band later Romeo Djomlija formed one of the greatest Garage Rock bands in the ex-Yugoslavia,The Spoons.This is another gift from Vladimir,and an important piece of Pula`s Punk history.

SAKE (Cro) - Demo 2002

This is one of the rare bands I still don`t know how their name spells..However,Sake are from Pula,formed in 2001 by the guitarist Semijan who is one of the founder members of a historical 70s Punk Rock bands from Pula,Gola Jaja.In the band today plays also Mico from The Swindle,and Elizabeta,former Devastation guitarist (in 1988).Elizabeta is not featured in this demo,here sings Ivana.
Sake plays a kind of grungy/alternative/new wave Punk Rock and this one here is a good produced (Sale Veruda) demo from 2002.Enjoy.

Another gift from my contributor Darko from Serbia,this is the first full lenght album of the serbian Thrash Metal band Azazel.The album is released in 2005 and is perfectly produced.The stuff on it is a fast paced but melodic Thrash Metal with very nice guitarworks.Worth a try,really.

Here`s for you some nice ultraheavy stuff,a great recording.This demo is obviously a compilation of three tracks recorded in different sessions,as it can be heard from the different productions or sounds.It is a Thrash/Death project,pretty heavy and definitely veeery moshable.Cool stuff.

Here is an album from the very end of a state called Yugoslavia..if you remember,1991 was the year when Yugoslavia splitted and practicly died,and this album is one of the last Metal albums released in Yugoslavia.Annathema`s (not to confound with the british one) album is recorded very professionally,and they represent the-let`s call it-slower Thrash Metal side.But that does not mean that this album is not a heavy MF..

If you haven`t heard,THE MIGHTY BULLDOZER IS BACK!!Yep,they are prepairing an album for 2009,I hope they will Thrash the hell out as they did back in the 80s.This one is a hard-to-find mini-lp,the last thing they did.A very strange ep,actually a parody to the dance music that manicly spreaded all over the world in the beginning of the 90s.Sadly,the fans rejected this ep as "selling-out",but the whole thing was completely misunderstood.I found it on the net,it is a 56kpbs sound quality,and just here for you to judge were Bulldozer selling out or making just a mockery out of dance music.

OVERKILL (U.S.A.) - Power in black , demo 1983

So,let`s continue with historical demos,demos of Thrash Metal bands that made Thrash Metal one of the most exciting music ever.You all know who are Overkill,one of the bands from the first American wave of Thrash bands.This is the first demo after changing completely the image of the band (they were a Punk band called The Lubricunts),and it is a nice recording,altough the production could be better (my opinion).Enjoy early Overkill!!

For all those who liked Kabir Bedi,here`s another "strange" band..actually,there is nothing strange in it,it just depends on how wide your views on music are.This here is a very VERY professionally played and produced piece of work.Members of this project (the Croatian part of it) are the Sinkauz brothers from Pula (known as former founding members of Dusty Miller);they were studying in Padova,Italy,and there they found the rest of the band..this is their first full lenght cd,a great mixture of everything,with a lot of ethno influences.

I am proud I can present to you one of the best Italian Death Metal bands ever,and I can`t avoid to add - with the best Italian (and much larger) Death Metal drummer.Necrosphere was born from the ashes of Cenotaph,and raised their musicianship and technicality few dozens of steps higher.This is a perfectly produced and played full lenght album,too bad it`s the only one they did.The band is no more existing,and two members of the band,Damiano and Max are today members of the exciting rocking Metal band Fuel From Hell.Enjoy this great album.
