What can be said, this is a blog where I will post some stuff I really like,so I think you should like it too.I am a metalhead to the heart, but I will put here every kind of stuff I like, not only Metal.I hope you will enjoy it,and let me know if there is anything needed, especially from the ex-Yugoslavia territory.
Cheers!
Here is another "lost tape" from the Pula Rock scene history.Gubitnici were a band that didn`t lasted for a long time, they played few gigs and made a demo in a surprisingly short time, but then disappeared from the scene. This is a perfectly produced demo containing 5 melodic Garage/Punk tunes. No cover, picture, or video.
Tracks: 01.H.B. 02.Dzin 03.Jako puno 04.Ja lutam sam 05.Sebastijan
This is a nice promo cd, I got it from the radio station where I worked in the 90s.This is the compilation of a festival held in Litija, Slovenia, and lasted few years. There was a bunch of Garage Rock, Classic Rock and Punk Rock bands, a festival that completely negated Metal as music, thanx to the art director and founder of the festival, a person I won`t even mention, but you can hear on the introduction track 1 on the cd.This cd is, as written, not for sale, so I give it to you for free.

Now,here is a cult Garage Rock and Punk compilation, released just before the war in Croatia started. With this compilation, three bands were thrown into the A league of the Croatian underground Rock;Messerschmitt,Majke and especially the charismatic Satan Panonski. An album made exclusively of demo recordings,so by itself it is a true great document of the Garage/Punk scene in Croatia.Really worth downloading.Enjoy!

This is a nice compilations of bands from Pula, exactly bands from the Garage Rock wave/mania/invasion at the end of the 80s.I bet Pula was the city with most garage rock bands in the world at that time. They are all on this cassette made by a HC fan from Rakalj,in the heart of Istria,mr. Geza.Enjoy this piece of Pula`s Rock history! A trivia about the title:a contingent of some 10 bands from Pula went by bus to Rijeka to a regional bands contest (called Gitarijada).Among them were Devastation,Messerschmitt (their very first show!!!),The Swindle,Sumrak Ideja,Ulicni Dzuboks,052..I had a tape recorder with me,to record the Devastation show, and some few,and the Messerschmitt too.The bands from Pula were totally discriminated and practicly all bands played early in the afternoon. We were pretty angry about it,and all our anger came out through Miro Kusacic (vox, guitar) brilliantly announcing that the Messerschmitt show,as well as the shows of all Pula bands that afternoon are part of a unity called Pula-London-Teheran (as opposite to the title of a compilation of bands from Rijeka entitled Rijeka-Paris-Texas).Also,the title is a parody of the legendary "This is Boston, not LA" compilation (the translation is This Is Pula, not Rijeka).
Tracks: SINOVI 01.Previse zvuka 02.7000 ljudi 03.Sestra MESSERSCHMITT 04.Keep a knocking 05.We`re the road crew 06.Today,today SPOONS 07.Louie Louie 08.Witch 09.Nobody but me F.M.D. 10.Fourth 11.Zoom pictures 12.Race to the moon WASHINGTONES 13.Have love will travel 14.Psycho 15.My generation GUBITNICI 16.Jako puno 17.Sam 18.Sebastijan
Messerschmitt are a great garage rock band, but rockin very,I mean VERY hard. This is their first album,a rarity and almost unavailable,as the indie label Blind Dog Records disappeared very soon after this album, and there was only one edition pressing of it.So this is a great vinyl rip provided by Florijan. The production is pretty strong, with the vocal a bit low IMO,but just listen to the second song on the album,Haymaker,it reminds me of fast stuff from Motorhead`s Orgasmatron album. But this is not the only fast moment of the album, even most of the rest is some mid-tempo hard rockin.Recommended! PS:of course,Messerschmitt are from Pula..
Tracks: 01.Miss Jackie Daniels 02.Haymaker 03.Wept by Blues 04.Just one more time 05.Today 06.Dimples 07.Crossroads Blues 08.Plastic eyes 09.Jam session 10.Sittin on a B.S. 11.Route 66
A highly energic band from USA,I got this CD directly from the band after their show here near Varazdin. This gig was one of the most explosive gigs I have ever seen.Energic garage rock, exclusively for the ones who like gooood raaaaaw Rock `n` Roll.
Tracks; 01.No one rides for free 02.Drivin` right on thru 03.Midnight thunder 04.Ace up my sleeve 05.Stick to your guns 06.Fixin` to die 07.Blurred vision 08.Better off alone 09.Hangovers and heartaches 10.Lay it down
Here is the come-back cd of one of the most stubborn bands in Croatia.Coming from Pula,Messerschmitt started in 1988,and until now they changed members (except for the indestructible Miro Kusacic, who gave me this CD) but never, and I mean NEVER changed the musical style. This CD is their first material after a longer pause, and it is a CD of covers, all standards and played in their own style. So all classic rock played dirty and loud, enjoy!
Tracks; 01.Gloria 02.Riot in cell block no. 9 03.2000 light years from home 04.Parchman farm 05.Crossroad 06.Teenage head 07.Back in the night 08.Spoonful 09.Tush
I`ve found on a tape that Miro (guitar, vox) recorded me 19 yrs ago these two tracks,I remember that it was actually their first demo.I am not sure if it is complete,I think that maybe there might be at least one more track as part of it,but well,I give you these two!
Tracks; 01.Have a little faith in me 02.I don`t like this games
Ok,finally a recording where I didn`t played anything ;-) .This is a great garage rock band from Pula,Croatia, and this partcular recording is an excellent soundboard recording of a live gig in Slovenia that Miro Kusacic (guitar, vox) taped me back in 1989.I was always very fond of this live recording,so I hope that Miro won`t have anything against this posting. The band is still playing and recording, stronger than ever.
Tracks; 01.Loreen 02.Why 03.In the heat of the night 04.I don`t like this game 05.Clocks 06.Plastic eyes 07.I`m a fool for you 08.Ohio
