What can be said, this is a blog where I will post some stuff I really like,so I think you should like it too.I am a metalhead to the heart, but I will put here every kind of stuff I like, not only Metal.I hope you will enjoy it,and let me know if there is anything needed, especially from the ex-Yugoslavia territory.
Cheers!

And there goes another excellent Serbian band served to us by Zlatko.Thrash metal with an excellent recording (altough I think that the programmed drum should be replaced and re-recorded with a live drummer). But except for that, the material you got here is really great in every aspect.Serbian Metal (obviously) rules.
Tracks: 01.We are damned (Welcome to hell) 02.Cold winter night 03.Parted 04.Inner evil
Here is the second release of one of the three bands that were the top of the Croatian Metal scene in the first part of the 90s, but also the first of those three who fell apart.Kain were an excellent live band, I had the opportunity to know them in private, all great guys, and there are some rumors that they are active again after more than a decade, but for the moment, those are only rumors. You already had some Kain stuff on this blog, so this is their last (official) release. For all who love a Megadeth/Testament kind of Thrash Metal, definitely a must. And thanx our Australian contributor for this!!!
Tracks: 01.In touch with reality 02.My words of hate 03.Land of dreams 04.Who am I 05.Time for change 06.The underworld 07.Pride
Another gift from my contributor Darko from Serbia, this is the first full lenght album of the serbian Thrash Metal band Azazel. The album is released in 2005 and is perfectly produced. The stuff on it is a fast paced but melodic Thrash Metal with very nice guitarworks.Worth a try, really.
Tracks; 01.Intro 02.Of guiding lights 03.The fall 04.Legacy of Cain 05.To my God 06.Time will tell 07.Azazel 08.Butterfly tree (inst.) 09.Ex libris 10.The censor 11.To my God 2 12.The law 13.Na-Amah (instr.)
Here is an album from the very end of a state called Yugoslavia..if you remember,1991 was the year when Yugoslavia splitted and practicly died, and this album is one of the last Metal albums released in Yugoslavia.Annathema`s (not to confound with the british one) album is recorded very professionally, and they represent the-let`s call it-slower Thrash Metal side. But that does not mean that this album is not a heavy MF..
Tracks: 01.Intro-Wasteland 02.Road warrior 03.Dead end street 04.Confession 05.Ride the shooting star 06.Empire of noise 07.Sleepless night 08.Nuclear Jazz 09.Pray with your blood (for my soul) 10.Sympthom of the universe (Black Sabbath cover)
Well, for now, this is the last recording I have by those Thrash Metal veterans from Pula. This one is their third demo recorded and released in 1995.The quality of the production is very professional, and last year Tomo told me that they are working on a comeback..I hope they succeed in that!!
Tracks; 01.Time for rebellion 02.Rage of black tears 03.Entire despair (live) 04.The other way round
Ehm..as you already read here, you know that the guys from DS were/are my good friends (at least the motor of it, H/K and Maras),and DS were one of the leading Thrash Metal bands in Croatia.. This is an album that splits their fans..A lot of Gothic influences in here made DS turn almost away from the style they played before. But it just seems like that.. The album have a lot (and I will add-too much) Gothic influences, pianos and stuff..But I will call it creativity..Just listen to tracks as War Skeletons and Endless Madness ( both with even Grind parts!!) or Rejected Man,and that is where the true DS lies.. Two interesting things about this album: -the female backing vocals are sung by Vesna Pezo (not checked, but it is obvious that we are talking about the todays turbofolk singer) -the last track (Rejected Man) contains a bit of silence after the track, and then the hidden Rap Metal track Rough Times, featuring the (bad English talking) rapper(s) M2S.
Tracks: 01.Keeper of the lost souls 02.The seventh seal 03.Another smile at my face 04.Doors of time 05.Walls 06.War skeletons 07.March of gods 08.The sentinel 09.Endless madness 10.The battle rages on 11.Rejected man (+ hidden track Rough Times )
I got this tape directly from the band during the Carcass concert in Italy, and even it is nothing spectacular,it is still a nice old school Thrash Metal stuff. As far as I know, the band left no other trace at all,so for the collectors of Italian metal, this is very interesting stuff.
Here is another Croatian Metal band totally unknown to me.I haven`t found no information about them anywhere, except for an old interview..I only know that they are Croatian and that they recorded this promo cd which should probably have been a proper release, but obviously something`s gone wrong..Well,the material is really excellent,it reminds me somehow of At The Gates,so you know that it must be good..
Tracks: 01.Men and pigs 02.The dawn of the W.A.S.P. empire 03.So what 04.50 ljeta 05.Zasto ja 06.Your salvation my damnation 07.Cliche` 08.Levijatan
Here is something pretty rare, even if it is not a so old demo (well,15 years are not that much, right). The band is from Rijeka, and plays a kind of mid-tempo Thrash Metal, but very fairly. The recording is not the best you heard, but if you collect Croatian Metal, this is something you will hardly find, and it is 100% worth having.
Tracks: 01.Osveta 02.Ubijte Boga 03.Prokletstvo 04.Crna kisa
Here we go,this is the new stuff from this Serbian band,an excellent recording melodic Thrash Metal band.I repeat MELODIC,because I don`t know where to put them, not truly Thrash, but more than just Heavy Metal..Gotta try them.I got the permission from the band for this one.Enjoy!!
Tracks; 01.Clockwise 02.Fairytaleless 03.Pedestrian love song 04.Picture of a sound 05.She gets to me 06.The peasantry
Blockade Runner reformed in 2007!!Allright,this is the news for the fans of this band, thank God,they reformed again (the new line up will have two members of the original line-up,Hari and Tomo, the last guy on this pic with me,on the party in Pula 7.9.07.),and if everything goes as planned,a great Devastation/Blockade Runner package will be available for gigs very soon (maybe a split cd?who knows).Blockade Runner will record new stuff soon, and Tomo promised me that I will recieve it to put it here on this blog!!Can`t wait for that.In the meantime, here is a compilation of BR`s demo tracks, plus few tracks re-done for this compilation.BR RULES!
Tracks; 01.Entire despair 02.The other way round 03.Rage of black tears 04.Time for rebellion 05.Heavenward 06.Snakes in the air 07.Without resort to bad force 08.Your wicked wish 09.Crown 10.Heavenward 2002 11.Security code (garage demo 2001) 12.Snakes in the air (live 2002)
Another Metal band from Pula,as you already noticed,in Metal and HC the strongest Croatian city. This band played a strange mix of Melodic Thrash with influences from Grunge acts like Alice In Chains or Pearl Jam.This tape was officially released by Adam Records,a label which lasted very short and released Pop acts, and this Metal one.The guitarist Vedran came from Hatross, the drummer today is a Jazz drummer and the brothers Sinkauz (bass/guitar) have their own experimental band East Rodeo.
I am sorry that I cannot say nothing about this band..Well,almost nothing;I know they were from Rijeka and at least one member was member of the Rijeka`s "Cradle Of Filth" clones CASTRUM.
I got this demo right from that guy,and what we have here is a very nice Melodic Thrash Metal, with three demo songs and three live bonus tracks (of which I don`t know the names). So if you are still searchin for pieces of Croatian Metal history, take this one!
Tracks; 01.Blowin` the dust 02.Jester`s song 03.Void within 04.unknown live track 1 05.unknown live track 2 06 unknown live track 3
