Here is something from one of the most known underground Metal bands from the US.Jag Panzer never got their deserved part of glory, but their work was remarkable, and this one is their very first Ep Tyrants (which I called Death Row in the file, sorry for the mistake!).Pure Heavy Metal.Worth having it.
Wow, this is high quality Heavy Metal in every single tone!! If you are fan of good Metal stuff, then this is something you won`t miss.Of course, endlessly professional production and..oh man, do I have to say anything more? Oh, yes, I have to thank Zlatko, a guy that sent me a lot of high quality stuff from Serbia! Serbian Metal kicks ass!
My old buddy and contributor to this blog, Florijan, sent me this demo of a brandnew band from Pula, a demo finished just three days ago. This is a very young band, and I am glad there is bands who play good old Heavy Metal, and this is something I would not like to compare with anything, I hope the band will continue this way, and we`ll have surely more good stuff in the future!
Here is the album of a cool Serbian Metal band from the Yugoslavian period, a band that would probably have done more if the things on the Balkans remained calm.We already had their demo here (released after the album!) and if you listened to it, you know what is all about. So if you are fan of Heavy Metal from the Balkans, this one is definitely for you.
Now, this is an interesting post I found on my colleague`s Aktivista`s beautiful blog "Zvuci Jugoslavije".
Sinisa Vuco f++king rules!!I mean, you would kill to have a guy like this in your country..Sinisa Vuco is the spiritus-movens of Quick Sand, the english version of his band Zivo Blato (go back on this blog for their first album) , and surely a very provocative person and artist.Guitarist and vocalist (and probably author of everything you hear on this album), he is actually the guy who played in one of the first Croatia`s Thrash Metal bands Evil Blood in the 80s,and then continues his carreer as an extremely successful turbo-folk singer (????) but always returning to his Metal roots. This record is a Metal version of what he do usually.Just listen to "Love and drinking" (his biggest hit originally called "Volim Piti i Ljubiti"), absofuckinglutely hilarious.Of course, don`t get it too serious..
You noticed that this blog slowed down recently..I am sorry I am not able to update it daily, but my day became so narrow that I rarely have some free time to update the blog.It won`t stop,no fear, but I hope you are patient enough to wait for the next posts.Thank you for that.
Now,to finish this "female celebration day",the best female Metal album I have ever heard (with Girlschool`s Hit And Run,of course). Those three beauties up here (I have to be very careful with calling them beauties,as the guitarist/vocalist Jody Turner was 17,and her sister, the drummer Julie Turner at the time of recording this album was only 12 years old!!!)(and the drums, very rhytmical and strong, are IMO the best part of this album!) recorded this debut album under the production of Vic Maile (Motorhead,Girlschool...oooops,same story??No way this time.),and at the time I heard it for the first time (back in 83) it was one of the best Metal albums of the moment! You have to try it,if you like Metal melodic and raw,but very very strong.Oh yeah,I almost forgot:the last two tracks are not featured on the original vinyl release.I recommend especially tracks 6-11..fucking great!!
So here we go again..a Serbo/Canadian band that unfortunately never succeded the way they planned..First of all,I want to thank mr.Milos Senicar for sending me this double cd collection,an inestimable set of all works of this band. You have everything here:demos, the EP and both Canadian and Yugoslav versions of their only LP.So everybody who knew about them can collect all the stuff at once!Enjoy this piece of Yugoslav Metal history.
Oh,yeah, this sounds very nice,a Power Metal album of full TRUE classic Metal parody!!!These guys are fuckin mad,but are really enjoyable for listening, playing really great and with a vocalist that in its parody have a pretty mighty voice.Metal needs something like this band from time to time..
Another relatively new Croatian Metal band, with a very good three tracker.Expect a nice Heavy Metal sang in Croatian, and with a good production. The band have also an album in their discography, recorded in 2005.Recommended for those who are collectors of ex-yu Metal and Rock.
Another contribution by Florijan.Headbanger`s legendary EP from the Pula scene of the first half of the 90s,reminds me of the progress the band had back in time, after they mutated into Super Booster (Nade and Hamer),and Rale passed to play in Gardenia.A nice EP,I tagged Heavy Metal, but as they are very much influenced by Motorhead, get this as a Fast Rock`n`Roll Heavy Metal Motorheadesque stuff..Come on,you know what I mean..Really worth a try!
Well, here it is,an album pretty hard to find, and in it`s second version, for which I admit I didn`t knew it exists (I have the first version from 1983 with different songs on vinyl, and I have never heard about a second version-I hope I`ll get a grammophone very soon,so I can rip all the vinyls I want to put here!!).Anyway,Warriors are a very melodic Heavy Metal band born on the ashes of Gordi (bassist Slobodan Svrdlan) and as a side project of Riblja Corba`s drummer Vicko Milatovic. In the final,Vicko was missing so the band completed the line up and released a Maxi Single and an album, and tried their luck in Canada, from where is the guitarist Douglas Platt. As far as I remember, they did nothing, and splitted a year later.I am so sorry just for Slobodan Svrdlan, because he was one of the best Bassists in Yugoslavia..Enjoy this one.
Well, you all know this one..and if you don`t,you still have the cover of the EP,and just a short sight at it,and seeing Lemmy in the back..To cut the crap:this is the legendary EP that Motorhead and Girlschool did together. There are three tracks;the collaboration in Please Don`t Touch,Girlschool covering the guys with Bomber, and Motorhead covering the girls with Emergency.A very fun EP,which I dedicate to Florijan.
