Well, to end this old-school block, and after the first issue some time back, here`s the second issue of a fanzine from Slovenia, exactly a one made by one of the most active figure in the Slovenian MetalHC scene of that time, mr. Bostjan Jurecic. This is a nicely done zine, a little bit bad copied, but another important document of that time. LSN, PHANTASM, THANATOS, LEGACY, DARK ANGEL, POSSESSED, G-ANX, OUTRAGE, CARNAGE, CYCLONE, MUTILATION, ANGEL DEATH, DARKNESS, DESEXULT, VOOR, CELTIC FROST, AMEBIX..this is what you will find inside this one, so grab it now!

METAL ATTACK (Ita) - fanzine issue no.7 1989-1990

Well, here is a fanzine that is especially dear to me.This is an Italian fanzine made by a metal fan called Venanzio Sony.As you can read on the cover, it is mostly about Thrash and Heavy Metal, and you can read some nice stuff in here, if you know italian, because even there are few articles written in english, the zine is mostly in italian.Inside: NOCTURNUS , SAMAEL , CREEPIN DEATH, MORBID, EXTREMA, THUNDERBOLT, G.L.A.S., SCHIZO, DEATH, DEVASTATION (yes, my Devastation!), EMPTOR, NECRODEATH, BURNT OFFERING, ASPHYX, IMMOLATION, BRAINDAMAGE, MAYHEM, NO RULES, EVERSOR, LUNACY and WENCH.
Lotsa stuff here!!!

EVIL SPIRITS - Croatian fanzine 1994

Here is another Croatian fanzine from the mid 90s, and it came from Pozega (as we have few visitors from Pozega on this blog, comments are welcome!). The stuff is mostly in Croatian language, and more or less all about Death Metal and Grindcore.Bands featured are Misery, Insane, Pseudostratified Epithelium, Desinence Mortification, Sarcastic Terror, Amorphosa, Insanity ,Drinking Skull, Homicide, Pure Stems Pack, Tomb Crusher, Aeon , Cadaverous Condition and Soter. Wow, stuff to read, ha?

DEATH SPEAKS - Slovenian fanzine 1985

Yeah, good ole times.. I remember having this fanzine, and actually being very happy seeing that Thrash and Speed Metal is spreading like a disease..This one is one of the first Thrash zines in the ex-Yugoslavia, written by the mid80s enthusiast Bostjan Jurecic. Here you can find interviews with At War, Tankard, Kreator, Iron Angel and Hirax, something about the first Thrash bands in Yugoslavia , Odpadki Civilizacije and III Kategorija (even though I think they were completely Hardcore Thrash, but far from being Metal) and some more stuff.Very interesting revisiting the spirit of the 80s..

BOLJI ZIVOT 4 , HC/Punk Fanzine , Novi Sad (Ser) 1989

In the new sequel of the "fanzines" serie, here is a HC/Punk one from Serbia (at the time the happily-ever-after Yugoslavia). This fanzine is completely in Serbian language, and contains a lot of interviews, to name a few ; Hard-Ons, Hellbastard, RKL, Desecration, then some concert reviews (as Lethal Aggression/Youth Of Today , SNFU, NoMeansNo), various columns and city-reports and as usual the last 5-6 pages of demo-vinyl-fanzine reviews. One of the neatest fanzines from the ex-Yu, again and unfortunately for the rest-of-the-world visitors, completely in Serbian language.
Your choice.
PS:On the file wrong year of release.Who cares.

INNER SANCTUM - Croatian fanzine December 1994

Continuing the fanzine scans, here is a Croatian one from 1994,precisely from Split. It was not a professionally made zine, but it is still a document of a time and a scene,as 90% of the zine is made of interviews with Croatian bands from the underground scene of that time, precisely bands from Pula and Pozega (Aeon,Hatross,Sprovod,Amen,D.Mortification,The Bleeding) plus an interview with the mighty Agathocles. It is completely written in croatian,so for the people from the exYu territory it will be fun,and for you others a collectible document of an era.

MASTER ZINE / RADIATION SICKNESS ZINE , Croatian fanzine 1994

Here`s another fanzine I just scanned. This one is from Pula, done by my friend and huge contributor Zlajo and his friend Brane (at that time both in Brijacina Kojona).Unfortunately, for all non-ex-Yu visitors, this zine is completely in Croatian, and what is even worse, some interviews are done in the local slang,so even if you know some Croatian, there is no chance to understand what is written. However, there are a lot of interviews and reviews and it will be a lot of fun and stuff to know about the past of the scene for all from the ex-yu territory. For all others,if you just collect zines no-matter-what,this is a must!

FANZINE ; BRAIN DAMAGE (U.S.A.) - issue 2 , 1985

Ok,it`s time to put the second issue of this nice fanzine, the success of the first issue was really great, and I know you are waiting for this one.The first one was a better copy,so here might happen that some parts won`t be easily readable, but still it is the best possible scan.In this issue you have interviews with Sodom,Celtic Frost,Bathory,Corrosion Of Conformity,Destruction, Possessed,Dark Angel, then articles about Iron Angel,Tormentor (pre-Kreator),Death,and finally reviews of new released by Sodom,Destruction,Septic Death,Excel,Exodus,Celtic Frost,Antichrist and Adrenalin O.D.A page that might interest you most is the ad that Celtic Frost put here searching for a drummer!!So,there you go!

FANZINE ; BRAIN DAMAGE (U.S.A.) - issue no.1 , Fall 1984

Allright, now something different, not an audio or video post,I bring you here the scan of an American Speed/Thrash Metal fanzine from the end of 1984.The fanzine was entitled Brain damage, and it is totally old-school designed, typewriting and handwritten logos and pentagrams and upsidedown crosses and similiar stuff to get you back in the beginnings of the most exciting Metal genre ever. The editors were Vadim Rubin (later in Halfoff and HayWire) and a certain Ron Nieto. The writer was, among others,a certain Gene Hoglan (don`t ask me where he played later,please..) and his wife Lisa draw the logo.20 pages,3,5 MB!
I am sure you will be all interested in this one,you can find recensions of early Destruction,Death Angel, VoiVod,Omen,Slayer,Celtic Frost,Overkill,Dark Angel, jag Panzer,Mercyful Fate,Mantas (pre-Death),Enforcer and Znowhite, read an interview with Hirax and read how disappointed the metalheads were when Metallica`s Ride The Lightning was released (good for them they were timely soooo far from Load and Reload....)...
For all the old-school lovers (like me!)!Enjoy this one,I have also the issue 2,so wait for it soon. And let me know what you think of it!!
