This is one of the best comebacks of the year 2011. The Christian Thrash Metal band Amen played at the beginnings of the 90s, then stopped, a member continued to play with Hope, and now that Hope are disbanded, Amen are here again. The stuff is mid-tempo melodic Thrash Metal, with an excellent production. They made it perfectly this time, so let`s hope for some new stuff from Amen in 2012.

Allright, here is the new release from the Grind masters from Pula, Bolesno Grinje !! I got it yesterday from both Jule (guitar) and Hoc (bass), and posting it straight on ! This album is an AWESOME release, balancing through Grindcore, Crust, and the most furious and insane Death Metal. This is the first release after their drummer Rio left them (actually, as far as I know, he left all the bands he played with and went Techno-DJing..), and with the new drummer Luze. The pace is still very fast and very loud, and if you like the fact of 15 songs in 25 minutes (but actually it`s 14 songs in 21 minutes, as the last song is some kind of noise), then you should download this album right away! To be fair to the band, I will put two links for download, one is mine, and the second one will be theirs, where you can download the album with a small amount of money, helping that way the band in releasing a vinyl of this album (but you can also write 0 euros and download it anyway). And to be honest, there is absolutely no reason not to try them, excellent Pagan BM with a very good production, and with (something the band is probably very proud of) lyrics in Macedonian language (with a lyric sheet with translations in English). The slovenian U.B.R. were undoubtely one of the greatest HC bands from the ex-Yu territory. And surely one of the most succesful, being part of one of the most legendary compilations of it`s kind, the Maximum Rock`n`Roll one, along with great manes as Rattus, Raw Power, Terveet Kadet and others. The track featured there is from this tape, the song Harmonija. Now, if you heard that song then you have exactly the picture how this demo sounds. Killer.

This is the only album of a fine New Wave/Ska band from Yugoslavia. Kontraritam were from Novi Sad, and including Pekinska Patka`s ex-guitarist Sreten Kovacevic (who also played saxophone on this record). Everything on this album sounds cool, a more poppy Ska sound, but still very danceable.

Very nice demo, I remember Necronomicon as the perfect early-Sodom clones, at least on their first album.. well, you will get the same feeling on this demo, too.. but hey, who says that it sounds bad?? This is early Speed Thrash Metal (and especially the cult German Thrash !!!) so you can`t go wrong. Of course, it has the sound of the 80s demo recordings, not as today, where a demo sounds like a million dollars CD..

I am really fortunate to know Italian language, so I can understand all the lyrics, which are- of course - talking about God, Jesus, love and faith. He is trying to explain God through a different kind of view, and I like that very much.

Oh, yeah, another fine contribution from my long-time contributor, Roihlem. Actually, this one surprised me a lot. This was a Glam Metal band from the last years of Yugoslavia`s existence. Glam Metal in Yugoslavia was pretty much a nonsense for me, but actually this band made me think of the early Osmi Putnik, so it was not impossible at all.. The music you can hear here is a quite simple and "Balcanic" Hard Rock/Glam Metal, but sounds (beside the production) very good! A piece for the collectors of ex-Yu music very nice to have in the collection !

This is a great album. My band played at the same festival with this guys, and believe me, their show was a blast! This is the album they released several months after the show in Shid, and it has a great production. I wish they recorded their version of Motorhead`s "Ace of spades", which was extremely interesting, but instead of it, you have a very interesting version of Blur`s "Song 2" !!

Ehm.. I posted this document of a past time, of a now defunct state and it`s army and of communism too. This army was the third most powerful army in Europe, which was blown off by itself in the split of Yugoslavia. The JNA (Yugoslav people`s army) has a rich cultural part of its existence, and this was one of it. Every republic in the state has its own Symphonic orchestra, and this one was from Zagreb (republic of Croatia). This record dated 1971 (a symbolic year for Croatia`s independence) contains marches and traditional tunes from all around Yugoslavia. A document of something that will never happen again.

BACK FROM VACATION !

Hello, people..just when you tought I stopped again this blog, NO! I was on a 10 days vacation, in the (for the old visitors of this blog) well known heaven on earth, Stinjan near Pula, Istria, the most beautiful region of Croatia. It was a 5/5 days concerning the weather which was great the first 5 days, but deteriorated the last 5 days, which were actually good for visiting friends and family.I started with a pic of my favourite beach..and from this summer, a nice new thing: a beach bar !!

The night after we arrived, on a nearby beach in Valbandon there was a "Roman night" with ancient crafts and food (extremely expensive, of course), but it was a nice thing to visit, and to have a pleasant and relaxing evening walk. Here is a pic of this human mountain working on a piece of stone

..and a picture of me and my daughter with a roman centurion (very nice and cheerful guy)..

One of the very next nights, my host and great friend Chotka (for those who don`t know, once a very productive musician and music producer and owner of a small EAR studio, which recorded almost every alternative and metal band in Pula, including both demos of my band Hatröss and both first recordings of my former Punk Rock band Antitodor I Talenti) prepared us a great fish food night, with lots of beautiful and tasty fish

..and fantastic mussels "na buzaru"..

All with great chilled white wine. I got a video of our great cook Chole in action !!

I know, it will look like I went on vacation just to eat, but I know that when we go to Chotka`s, there is no chance you`ll go away hungry.. two night after, Chotka prepared (we gave him meat) a Croatian traditional meal, Kotlovina.. it is a tasty mass of various meats ( in this case pork and chicken meat) in their own juices, fresh tomato, basil and a glass of white wine...

Here`s the action movie for this too!

Well, all in all, it was a nice vacation, saw a lot of friends, DJed on Friday 22nd and kissed my Istrian county.

We are going on now with our long term friendship and meeting through this blog. Very soon new interesting stuff, you all stay cool and stay tuned to this blog.

Zabranjeno Pusenje was the leading band of a new (well, kinda new) musical style called "New primitives" which was a mixture of New Wave/Punk/Rock/fun played very often with an interesting virtuosity. Their first album from 1984 (already here) became one of the most important albums of the history of the Ex-Yu Rock. This is their demo previous to the first album, dated 1981, which means that the band worked hard before releasing the first masterpiece. The quality is practicly perfect and the music is the rawer version of the first LP. Enjoy this one !!

Here we go ! This is an album you expected since the release of the previous one, and here is Audioheaven to give it to you in advance ! The new album from the serbian Thrash sensation Nadimac is ready, and it is about to hit every single corner of the planet. And man, what an album. Everything is great here, from the production to the structure of the songs, not to mention the great lyrics by Dacha. The lyrics are in serbian as always, but this time you have two songs in english too !! The only bad thing in the whole thing are the countless mistakes in the booklet of this release, but well, you won`t listen to the booklet, so who cares. This is an album I am gonna listen to this summer definitely. And I am not telling this just because the guys are my Thrash brothers and dear friends, you can easily find it out yourself now. Area Death Productions were really lucky to discover them and take them before everyone did, now they have a real deal to sell :) . I will not be surprised if this band do the next album for a big, really big label.

I do not need to say that this is very recommended. And Kretor can piss themselves with the Nadimac`s verion of Pleasure To Kill, hahaha..

NADIMAC - PO KRATKOM POSTUPKU (SPEED RETALIATION STYLE) , CD 2011

Dear friends and visitors of this blog, three or so months passed since I posted the last post, it is a lot of time, many things happened since then, and here I am finally to give some explanations about.

01- My band ended with activities - Yes, my band Devastation finished all activities, and it must be said in very, very bad blood between the (ex) members of the band. We split in two fractions inside the band, and the biggest fraction (three members) started to boycott the band, simply because they couldn`t handle the fact that it was decided since day one of this reunion that the band will play ONLY AND ONLY old school Thrash Metal, influenced by German Speed Metal of the 80s and simple metalized Hardcore.. The band was reformed to play exactly what was played back in time. With more shit running between us, I decided to disband the band, for good or for a period, I am not well sure, but surely without those guys.

02- I got a new band - And it is called NEMAN (Monster), we play some kind of Alternative Modern Metal, and here is a thing that confused most of my friends: they all brought a connection with my previous work with Devastation.. NO, IT HAS NO CONNECTION WITH DEVASTATION !! This is a completely different thing and I was invited to join this band, so it is completely a new thing. One of the next posts will be our first song we recorded recently, so you will judge for yourself.

03- More deletions of some posts - There were complains from Patareni, Pink Floyd, Destruction, serbian band Pollution, Flotsam And Jetsam and Cryptic Slaughter, and files concerning those two bands were removed. For few days Mediafire shuts down the access to files, and I tought it is over, so I was thinking of ending this blog. They just changed the interface, and the files are all there again, so I will try ASAP to continue with the posting.

I know, you don`t have to tell me nothing... I slowed down a lot, many things happened meanwhile, so I will continue to post as much as I can.. What we have here is a great compilation of ex-Yugoslavian HC/Punk bands, maybe one of the last official compilations of the defunct Yugoslavia. The difference between this and other previous compilation, is that this time there are no Serbian bands, we have Slovenian, Croatian and Bosnian bands here. And finally, I can post this relatively new Thrash Metal band from Bosnia, a band that deservedly gets more airplay every day. This recording is, as the name says, a rehearsal demo so the sound is just as a rehearsal should sound; raw and violent. The lyrics, as far as I understood is equal to black metal, only they don`t sing against christianity, but against muslims, which I must admit is very brave. This is a band (translated as "Little Sheeps of God") I really love a lot. I got this great promo cd+dvd from the vocalist at the Glasnici Nade promotion in St.Nicholas Church in Varazdin, and I must tell that this promo surprised me a lot. First of all graphically is a beautiful and handful cover, and after the little disappointment of having just one song on the cd, the surprise in form of a DVD with the well done video for that song !!! So, while we wait a full release from these guys (and girl, pardon, on bass guitar!), enjoy this punky track "I am yours".

I will stop for a moment with my friend-bands to present you a great album...

Yes, that is it, that is something many younger thrashers don`t know or have never heard. A lot of time before the CD version including the In The Sign Of Evil MLP, this album was released with a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT RECORDING. Not a remixed version, it is a totally different recording. When I bought that vinyl in 1986, I was pretty much disappointed, as the sound was incredibly powerless compared with the first mini-LP.. something went very wrong in the production of that album, the guitar was incredibly weak, altough the production was cristal clear. So the guys decided to re-record PART of this album and put a stronger recording on cd. Well, when I heard the cd version, I was disappointed again, because it was charmless, the album version has that "something" that makes the recording a cult one.The vinyl version became a cult recording. Very recommended, a must.

PS: the video has a bad sound, but it basically is the recording from the album.

Well, I will start now with a dozen of posts by bands with which I am personal friend, and some stuff I received directly from them. I am starting with a band that defined Doom Metal in Croatia, no one ever after made a so perfect Doom Metal material in Croatia and in the region, I may say. The band was created by Devastation`s first bassist Walter Udovicic Fritz, and played a completely Cathedral/Black Sabbath inspired Doom Metal. This is their first demo (if I am not wrong) which became very popular instantly, and with the distibution by the Belgian Shiver Records sold worldwide. The band lasted few more years, and then disappeared. This one is also by request!

Oh yeah, this is one hell of an EP, and I must say that I am the lucky owner of one copy!! The slovenian part is very Hardcore and the more controlled side of the EP, ES57 are a great band (I heard they reformed recently!!) andyou will surely enjoy their stuff. As for Sexorcist, it cannot be called as something serious, but is very listeneable, especially if you want to hear the shredding of Deep Purple`s biggest hit..All in all, a very nice EP.

PS:the sound gaps in the first two songs by ES57 are not mistakes, it is exactly as on the vinyl!

Oh, here is an album I liked a lot, in my period of life when I was pretty much Death Metal oriented, something completely different, yet still Metal. With class. This is a band made by ex-Cemetery members, and what you will get here is far from Death Metal or any extreme kind of it. This is a very listeneable Metal with a lot of Gothic atmospheres.Surely an album for you if you are not completely into extreme sounds. Thumbs up!

Here is another new band from Pula , and this one can go under the "something completely different" mark. It is nothing spectacular, it is just another rock band, but at a second listening, this is pretty relaxing stuff and not that bad at all. It is obviously a good soundboard rehearsal recording, and the music reminds of ex-Yugoslav rock bands from the 80s, i would even compare them to the lighter Azra songs.. anyway, if you think that they might interest you, get it.

One of the most influential ex-Yu Hard Rock bands, Riblja Corba, went downhill after the split of Yugoslavia, mostly for the fascist attitude of their vocalist Bora Djordjevic. Before that they were an institution with sold out concerts all over the country. This is an excellent soundboard recording of a concert held in Split, Croatia in 1987. It clearly shows that before the madness that possessed the brain of the bands leader, it was a band loved by everyone, even if it was not an excellent top performance.This is an extraordinary document !!

Aaaaaargh !!! This stuff is heavy as a ton of shit !! If you are fan of brutal digital noise aggressive stuff, then this compilation is for you. I got it from a friend from Trieste (home of the legendary noisegrind monsters Crna Smrt), and I suppose that all the bands or projects here are from Trieste and close region. However, this is a book of noise, so if you find yourself here...... Gruuthaagy lovers will love this compilation!

VACATION TIME !!!

Dear friends, the time has come !

I go to my well deserved vacation !

The blog slowed down the last two weeks, but the reason for that was the return of my band live on stage ! My DEVASTATION played two fantastic gigs, the first on August 7th, first time after 20 years, and for the first time ever in Serbia. The gig was played as headliners of a mini Metal Festival in Shid, and along with great bands as Scaffold, Putrid Blood, Downstroy and Nadimac. To cut a long story short, it looked like this:

The next weekend, on August 14th we played a slot of a festival called Viva La Pola, which we played with bands as Arthrone, the beautiful girls Hellcats, Pasi, Popeye, Guzva U 16ercu, Ritam Nereda and the legendary KUD Idijoti. It was a blast to play in the city where the band was born 24 years ago.Again, it looked like this:

And those were the reasons this blog stopped for a while. Now you have to be patient the next two weeks, I will be in Pula again, will have my own DJ night on the 27th August.. lotsa fun !!

UNLOGIC SKILL (Cro) - Demotracks 1995

This is stuff I am desperately searchin for the last few years..I am searching for the complete demo, even I have three tracks on various compilation tapes. So I decided to put them here all together, just because it is a band I loved very much in their early phase. Later they got signed for a major Croatian label, wimped out the music and started singing in Croatian, which turned me off instantly. But what I want to remember here is the chaos and incredibly wild gigs they had before they sucked. It was a bunch of great guys playing Rap-Metal (yes, that one) but with an incredible intensity (I just can`t forget the chaos on their gigs at the chorus of White Nigga, maaaan !!) . So here is this demo, to remind me and you of this great band, a proof that going Major sometimes can ruin everything in just one move. Recommended as fuck !!

PS: this post is dedicated to the loving memory of Damir Badurina-Bada, found dead few years ago. R.I.P. Bada. (in the video the guy with the red shirt on the interview)

Yeah, that is it that is what you are gonna listen to this summer, and if you`re lucky enough, bang your head to this autumn !! This is, as they call themselves - the new Croatian Metal `n` Roll sensation. And they are not that far from this definition. I am damn sure you`re gonna like this one; a great production (I followed here and there the production process through the vocalists Facebook profile) and great unique tracks! The ideal combination for this great band. Get it, fuckers!

Hard Rock, man. Balkanian Hard Rock. If you heard Griva, Divlje Jagode and similiar bands, this is something in that way. I have to thank Roihlem for this lost record, I didn`t ever heard of it back in time, and even is a 56 kbps vinyl rip, I must tell that it is pretty fair. For Hard Rock lovers.

From Slovenia we got some more modern power thrashing, Neverfall are a band I received from my contributor from Slovenia (forgot the name, sorry :( ) and I must tell that even if it is a small country, there is a pretty rich and healthy Metal scene there.This stuff here is certainly worth your attention, perfectly played and produced, a demo that you must have in your collection.
